The Kids Play Foundation hosted a massive soccer tournament at BC Place stadium this year, and our team was there to cover the event! Hundreds of students and youth gathered to take part in the festivities, and volunteers gave their time and energy into making the day the huge success that it was. We spoke with some of the attendees and volunteers, including Kids Play CEO Kal Dosanjh, to hear why events such as these are so important for today's youth in our community.

During our first production day, we had the opportunity to interview Andrew Judge, a remarkable young man with an extensive history working in the field of Indigenous education and research. He is a fine example of the caliber of contributors that will be on display within the series' narrative.

Over the course of the next few months, our production team will be working closely with the BCIT FSA in order to make sure we do justice to their story. It's always rewarding to work with individuals who are genuinely passionate about their cause, and with each interview we're learning more and more.

This isn't the first time we've worked with BCIT on a video project. In 2015, Kharé Communications created the feature-length documentary Breaking Down Walls, Building Bridges. The film followed First Nations students Glen Campbell and Steve Luk as they worked with the VPD to create a new obstacle course for their canine unit.

You can watch the documentary below.

We're very excited to be working on another project that will shed some light on the important work BCIT is doing, as well as bring further awareness to the vibrant Indigenous cultures we have here in British Columbia.

Nisha Kharé photoshoot with Erich Saide

Our Co-Founder Nisha Kharé got to work with the talented Vancouver-based photographer Erich Saide to capture some portraits that would later be used in publication for Fresh Magazine and Aaj Magazine. We brought our own cameras along to film some fun behind-the-scenes from the shoot and put together a short video capturing the experience.

Check out our behind-the-scenes video below!

Erich has a beautiful studio that allows for the best of both worlds - an open indoor space and an exterior space that overlooks the city skyline. The shoot was comfortable and fun, and the final photos look fantastic!

We always enjoy the ability to sit down with the person behind an innovation, and hear directly from them the message they want to convey to the public. By combining our years of journalistic interview experience with a simplified video production, we are able to construct a short promo that is clear and concise - something that is crucial for online media consumption.
